Bakerhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/14696930468620878781noreply@blogger.comBlogger1125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9973408.post-1108600139588457472005-02-16T18:28:00.000-06:002005-02-16T18:28:00.000-06:00while fans do bear some responsibility in demandin...while fans do bear some responsibility in demanding their gm do something during the offseason, the fans also should bear the responsibility of speaking out when the product sucks. sure, we have seen the more vocal people speak out wanting changes (those are mainly on teh internet) but everyone else is taking it and liking it because they don't know any better. take a look at places well in the sunbelt. do half of those people even know or care what is going on on the ice? i don't consider them fans, they are more sociallites. most of the real fans stay away because they can't afford it or don't like the product. from where i'm sitting if prices go up, more sociallites come in.<br /><br />speaking as someone who has been to three professional games ever (two minor leauge baseball games, one espnba game), yes i want my team to sign the prized free agent, but i don't want him being paid rediculous amounts of money. i never have. if paul kariya and teemu sellane wanted to play for the avs at their percieved market value last year, i wouldn't have taken them. i want my gm doing smart investing in players, not doling out these extreme a-rod money type deals.<br /><br />ps. right on about the kentucky mildcats. they (like the other major team in the state louisville) are wildly inconsistant in their play, and i can see them getting picked off again before selection sunday.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
