- The Cowboys bolstered their O-Line by signing Green Bay guard Marco Rivera
- Seahawks CB Ken Lucas signed with Carolina. Surprisingly, Sports and Bremertonians is taking the news very well.
- Meanwhile, Plaxico Burress visited the Vikings yesterday, prompting speculation that he might sign with Minnesota. (Hey, if he wants to be compared to Randy Moss for the rest of his career, more power to him).
- Kurt Warner is looking for a new home. He's narrowed his choices down to Arizona (who also took a look at Jeff Garcia), Chicago and Detroit.
- Other signings: Morlon Greenwood to the Texans Derrick Blaylock to the Jets Chris Claiborne joins Dexter Coakley in St. Louis
Conference Tournament Watch (ESPNU Debut Edition)
In my infinite stupidity, I forgot to mention the Atlantic Sun yesterday. Their tournament kicked off yesterday and top seed Gardner-Webb, a projected 16 seed in the Big Dance, almost blew it's shot at March Madness. Thankfully, they rebounded to beat Troy 64-62.
Troy is next scheduled to take on the Greek National Team for the rights to Helen of Troy.
Big South: Winthrop had no trouble with Birmingham Southern. Next: Championship vs. Charleston Southern, Tomorrow.
SoCon: Davidson makes short work of Elon. Next: UNC Greensboro, Today
Horizon: Tournament Resumes today. Wisconsin-Milwaukee faces the winner of Loyola (Ill) and Illinois-Chicago Tomorrow.
Conference Tournaments kicking off today:
- America East (Vermont)
- Colonial (Old Dominion)
- MAAC (Niagra)
- Missouri Valley (Southern Illnois, Wichita State?, Creighton?, Northern Illinois?)
- Sun Belt (Denver U., Louisiana-Lafayette)
- West Coast (Gonzaga, St. Mary's)
Four to Watch
- Syracuse at UConn (Saturday 3:00 P.M. Central, CBS) - While these two are destined for at large bids, the winner will certainly be helped in the seeding department.
- Kyocera SoCon Tournament Championship (Saturday, 6:00 P.M., ESPN2) - Nothing like the pressure of a mid-major conference championship: Win or watch your at-large bid go to a mediocre major conference team. Davidson will most likely be under the gun tomorrow.
- Texas at Oklahoma State (Saturday 8:00 P.M Central, ESPN) - Texas needs this one. Like really needs this one.
- Duke at North Carolina (Sunday 3:00 P.M. Central, CBS) - Aside from the fact that it's *the* game in the ACC every year, the Tar Heels can clinch the #1 seed in the ACC Tournament with a win.
Tomorrow: Conference Tournament Watch (Yes, we are posting on a saturday)
Monday: Big 12 Conference Tournament Preview.
